APPEAL: Establish a Continuous Charity in the Name of Our Beloved Sister, Khadijah Monica Dingjan, Who Returned to Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala

Assalaamu ’alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ.

Our beloved sister and da’iyyah, Khadijah Monica Elisabeth Fransica Dingjan, returned to Allah on 9 October 2025 in Malaysia. Alhamdu lillah she was blessed to have her janazah prayed after jumu’ah with the hundreds who attended the jumu’ah salah. We hope this will be a means of intercession for her in the hereafter.

By the Grace of Allah, Sister Khadijah motivated many to join the field of da’wah. She worked tirelessly, taught, helped, and contributed to uplifting the revert community in Malaysia. She was a silent backbone of da’wah.

Her story is one of faith, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to Islam, a story that continues to touch many lives even after her passing. The beautiful outpouring from her students and loved ones about her and her legacy has been heart-warming and we pray it is a sign of a good ending, in shaa' Allah. As the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The believers are the witnesses of Allah on the earth.” [Bukhari]

Her Journey Once among those far from faith, Allah guided her to His straight path. She made hijrah with her husband, leaving behind wealth, status, and comfort in the Netherlands, to live among people she did not previously know, seeking only Allah’s pleasure.

Allah then honoured her with years of da‘wah: many came to Islam and countless new Muslims were taught and supported through her efforts. A graduate of IIUM (2011), she devoted her life entirely to serving the deen, teaching new converts, welcoming visitors at Masjid Negara and introducing them to Islam, and even empowering sisters through self-defence and fitness classes. We ask Allah to bless and accept her deeds.

In April 2021, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She bore this test with extraordinary patience and continued serving, even when confined to bed with only access to a laptop. Allah tested her body with illness, and we hope that was for her a purification and forgiveness of sins, in shaa' Allah.

This is what we know and expect to be true about her, and Allah knows best. We do not praise anybody beyond what Allah knows about them. May Allah grant her jannah al-firdaus.

The Appeal We humbly request our brothers and sisters around the world to help establish a continuous charity (sadaqah jaariyah) in her name to benefit her in the hereafter. In collaboration with An-Nadaa Educational Foundation, your donations will go towards supporting various charitable causes, including digging wells, and expanding a hospital and school in Africa.

Allah سبحانه و تعالى says in the Qur’an: ”The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower.” [Al-Baqarah: 261]

Every drop from this well and every piece of hospital equipment donated will be a source of ongoing reward for her, as the Prophet ﷺ said:

“When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except for three: continuous charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Sahih Muslim)
